The Shire of Iron Ox is located in Jackson, Mississippi and the surrounding areas. Iron Ox is a chapter of an international organization dedicated to the research and recreation of pre-17th century European history called the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA).The SCA is a not-for-profit, educational organization wherein the members learn from "hands on" participation and conduct classes and/or demonstrations where they teach others what they have learned.The Shire of Iron Ox is located in the central region of the Kingdom of Gleann Abhann. It was founded in A.S. XIII and continues to thrive today. Members currently meet for Rapier and Heavy Weapons practices on Sundays at 2:00 p.m. at Lakeland Park located at 3601 Lakeland Lane in Jackson.
